The Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway kicked off their 2016 race season in style on Saturday April 16, 2016. With over 120 cars in the pit area for the first of two practices before the opening night, the view was amazing! From Legends to Late Models and Sprint cars and everything in between. Cars took to the track shortly after 12:00 PM and didn’t stop until after 6:00 PM. Race promoter Larry Stratton said, “it is so nice to see so many cars this early and how sharp they look”. The track for a 74 degree day held up pretty good said track promoter Jeff Lemiesz. We had some dust issues but with all the rain and snow we had a week prior we didn’t know what to expect. We didn’t want to add too much water so the track would push and we didn’t want too little either but as it turns out it was a little dusty. The Speedzone’s next practice is schedule for next Saturday April 23, 2016. Pit gates will once again open at 10:00 AM and practice will begin at noon. Admission for the pit area is $15.00 per person and once again a free grandstands.
