Phrases like "dirt's for racing, asphalt's for getting to the track" and conversely "asphalt 's for racing, dirt is for planting corn" can commonly be heard.

Driver's likewise often have a preference but what of those who have an opportunity to try both?

Brian Drexler has a 19 point lead in the Automotive Supply Company Modified standings is it enough to win a track title?Sunday, July 24th, 2011 - Oshkosh, WI. - 19 Points. In three divisions, that number separates would be champions from their rivals. As the season heads into the final month one can begin to look at the title chases and determine the contenders.

So just who is looking solid and which divisions have the closest title chases?

First, let's look at the point system.

Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway awards 40 points to the winner of a feature race. For every position behind the winner the points drop by one. As a result second place scores 39 points, third scores 38 and so forth. The 20th position in a feature scores 21 points.

Tuesday, July 19, 2011 - Oshkosh, WI. - It was an evening to honor the past and celebrate the present as three new inductees were added to the tracks Walk of Fame. Leroy Dehn, Jerry Reichenberger and Erv Schmude joined the list of those honored for their racing accomplishments at the former Leo's Speedway, predecessor of the current Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway.

The Oshkosh Speedzone as well as many other tracks is at the half way of the race season. During the first half of the season there was some great racing going on as well as some blunders. We are looking a great second half of the season to come. There are many close races going on like the Miller Lite Grand Nationals where there is just 5 points separating 1-5 positions and many other close points’ races going on.

Friday, July 15, 2011 - Oshkosh, WI. - After a one week break in the action, the roar of the engines were heard again at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway. Fans who attended Budweiser Night at the Races were treated to several dramatic finishes during the course of the evening including some thrilling moments during the feature events.

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 - Oshkosh, WI. - Drivers in the thick of the point chase will be put to the test this coming week as Oshkosh Speedzone will host two racing events just four days apart. Racing resumes this Friday Night, July 15th after a one week break in racing action as the track facilities were in use by Lifefest. The "Budweiser Night at the Races" kicks off the flurry of racing action this Friday night followed by the special Tuesday Night Walk of Fame program presented by The Galleria of Entertainment on July 19th.

Those two races will go a long way in determining the points battle into the second half of the season.

Saturday, July 9th, 2011 - Oshkosh, WI. - After a one week break in racing action as the track facilities were in use by Lifefest, racing will return with back to back racing events on Friday Night July 15th and Tuesday Night July 19th.

The events will continue the trend of close racing action, high car counts and a close title chase in all divisions.

Friday, July 1, 2011 - Oshkosh, WI. - A solid showing of dedicated fans and drivers weathered the high heat and humidity at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway as Sonntag Photography presented the Fireworks display during Sponsor Appreciation Night.

By the time features took to the track and the sun began set, the evening offered more comfortable conditions for driver's, and fans were presented some thrilling late race drama capped off by several green, white, checkered finishes.

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011 - Oshkosh, WI. - Skies above the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway will light up on Friday evening, July 1st, as a huge evening of fireworks and racing is in store for fan. Sonntag Photography, and the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway will present a fireworks display as a highlight of the evening's program which will also include all five divisions in a full night of racing action. Over 100 cars are expected to be on hand representing the Automotive Supply Company Modifieds, Miller Lite Grand Nationals, Leon's Frozen Custard Sport Modifieds, Total Power Sales Street Stocks and Lynn's Service Center Dirt Devils.
