With great regret, the Speedzone has lost a friend and one of the original track workers this past week. Richard (Tootie) Salzieder was called to serve his maker on Tuesday January 4, 2011, he was 57 years old. Tootie was battling Diabetes for several years when it just too much for him to handle.

The Oshkosh Speedzone regrets to inform everyone that long time flagman, Mark Winter, has decided to hang up his flags. Mark says that his decision to retire is that he wants to spend more time with his family. Mark will be spending the weekends camping with his wife and kids. The Winters’ this past year had bought a camping trailer and wants to explore the outdoors. Mark will continue to make up radio commercials as well as any other audio or video that the Speedzone may need.

Happy New Year everyone. Just an FYI, the next meeting will be Wednesday January 5, 2011 at Shoreview Lanes in Oshkosh at 7:00pm. Remember pit stalls need to be paid for reserved stalls from 2010. After January 31, first come first serve.

( Manitowoc, WI ) The 2nd annual Lakeshore Motorsports Show and Sale will take place Saturday, January 15th in the Merchants Building at the Manitowoc County Expo grounds.

16,000 feet of display space, Food and Beverages, Inside space available for tables, booths and exhibits. Outside space available for race cars, trucks and trailers. Buy / Sell / Trade, New and used racing parts, equipment and supplies. The Oshkosh Speedzone will also have a booth here with the new payout, schedules and rules.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to look over the survey. At this time we are not planning on going USRA, not to say that it may happen in the future, who's to know. There are enough differances that if we are the only track we would be on an island, we do not want to go there. Our rules mirror IMCA right down to the claim proceedure, .....lol.
Larry and I wanted to test the waters and see where it goes. The results were about 50/50 one way or the other.

Are we still looking at IMCA, yes but who knows there too. With Antigo situation who knows there.

The Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway celebrated the 2010 race season with the awards banquet held at the La Sure’s Banquet Hall. Just like the start of the 2010 race season starting out with a “Rain Out”, Mother Nature thought she would finish the season with a “White Out”.

Reminder about getting your banquet tickets before the end of the month. Call Larry, 920-252-1463 or here is a banquet form. The banquet is Saturday December 11 at La Sure's banquet hall in Oshkosh.

Reminder about the up coming drivers meeting. Wednesday December 1, 7:00pm at Shoreview Lanes in Oshkosh.

Wisconsin's newest Racing Expo has been set. Saturday February 12, 2011 at the Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh Wisconsin. Home of the Oshkosh Speedzone raceway. It is not too early to think about what you will need for your racing program or what you can get rid of.

Many of your Favorite venders will be at the Expo along with many racers.
