With great regret, the Speedzone has lost a friend and one of the original track workers this past week. Richard (Tootie) Salzieder was called to serve his maker on Tuesday January 4, 2011, he was 57 years old. Tootie was battling Diabetes for several years when it just too much for him to handle.

The Oshkosh Speedzone regrets to inform everyone that long time flagman, Mark Winter, has decided to hang up his flags. Mark says that his decision to retire is that he wants to spend more time with his family. Mark will be spending the weekends camping with his wife and kids. The Winters’ this past year had bought a camping trailer and wants to explore the outdoors. Mark will continue to make up radio commercials as well as any other audio or video that the Speedzone may need.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to look over the survey. At this time we are not planning on going USRA, not to say that it may happen in the future, who's to know. There are enough differances that if we are the only track we would be on an island, we do not want to go there. Our rules mirror IMCA right down to the claim proceedure,
Larry and I wanted to test the waters and see where it goes. The results were about 50/50 one way or the other.

Are we still looking at IMCA, yes but who knows there too. With Antigo situation who knows there.
