Wednesday, July 27, 2011 - We're heading into the home stretch of the 2011 racing season at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway. The current year has been highlighted by close and competitive race events, last lap passes for victories and high car counts with an average weekly showing of over 100 cars entering the pit area.
A look at the remaining races this season shows a wide variety of events to satisfy any need for speed.
After a one week break, racing resumes this Friday Night July 29th with the running of the Leroy Dehn Memorial. The standout driver from the former Leo's Speedway was recently inducted into the Walk of Fame during ceremonies at our most The night sponsored by Knaus Cheese and Weyauwega Star Dairy will honor Dehn's legacy.
Located in Rosendale, Wisconsin Knaus Cheese has been providing our customers with fresh dairy products for more than 20 years. Milk is purchased daily from local, independently owned dairy farms and make our their cheese using the finest milk available. The full program will feature all five weekly divisions in action.

The track will then take a break from weekly racing as the Winnebago County Fair will take place on the track grounds. During the fair the raceway will be used for various Demo Derbies, Tractor Pulls and concerts. Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway will present it's demo derby on Tuesday August 2nd during the fair. There will be no racing taking place on August 5th.
Racing will resume with a double header weekend on August 12th as the track presents Graphic Point Night at the races. Whether your producing an ad, brochure, website, package design, printed materials or specialty items, your message needs to take center stage and Graphic Point has the solution. Graphic Point is also the producer of the weekly point standing sheets passed out free of charge at the grandstand entrance. Graphic Point Night will feature all five weekly divisions.
The following night will show the meaning of "rubbin is racing" as the Gladiator Racing Series will take to the third mile clay oval for a 150 lap enduro event. Racing action is set to start at 6:00pm.
On August 19th, attention will focus on entertaining our young race fans as Shoreview Lanes and B 104 present Kids Ride Along night. Children can arrive before our 6:30pm start time and get to ride along with their favorite driver. The show will again feature all five weekly divisions taking to the track as the point chase begins to wind down.
The second and final appearance for the 2011 racing season for the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will take place on August 26th. The winged warriors will entertain fans as they approach 120 mph on the third-mile clay oval. Expect a field of nearly 30 sprint cars to participate. The IRA Outlaw Sprints will be joined by the Miller Lite Grand Nationals, Total Power Sales Street Stocks and the Lynn's Service Center Dirt Devils in a fill point program.
The 2011 season champions at the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway will be crowned on Friday Night September 2nd as La Sure's Banquet Hall presents the Season Championship Night at The Zone. The program will mark the final point show for all the weekly divisions and when the final checkered flag fall on the program out 2011 season champions will honored.
Even though our champions have been determined the action is not over for the year as an open practice will take place on Tuesday evening September 6th. Pit admission for the practice which will run from 5pm until 9pm is just $10, and grandstand admission is free.
The practice is the final opportunity to tune up and prepare for the final stock car event of the year held on Friday Night September 9th and Saturday Night September 10th as WAPL presents the Speedzone Fall Classic.
Over 150 cars will appear from area tracks for the largest payout of the season at the Oshkosh Speedzone for the competing divisions. IMCA Style Modifieds, Sport Modifieds, Grand Nationals, Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders will all participate in the two day show.
Heats races to set the feature fields will take place on Friday evening with consolation races proving the final opportunities to make the feature races and the feature races themselves will take place on Saturday.
The engines will roar one final time in 2011 at the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway as off-road fans will enjoy the The Traxxas TORC Series Sportsman's Points Championship Weekend which will take place on Saturday September 17th and Sunday September 18th.
Weekly Friday Night racing events will see the Pit Gates open at 4:00pm, the grandstands will open at 5:00pm and racing will start at 6:30pm. Adult admission is just $10, with students tickets available to those between the ages 11 and 15 at just $5. Children 10 and under are admitted free with an adult.
The IRA Sprint Special has a different ticket price with adult tickets being $20, student tickets (ages 11-15) selling for $10 and children under 10 are admitted free with an adult.
Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway is a 1/3 mile semi-banked clay oval located at the Sunnyview Expo Center which resides near the intersection of Highways 76 and County Trunk Y in Oshkosh.
