June 13, 2012; Oshkosh, WI - A celebration of sound and speed will take place at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway on Friday Night June 15th as NAPA Auto Parts of Oshkosh and Fond Du Lac will present the first annual Midwest Fest Night at the races.

The evening will feature a full program of racing action with events taking place in all five divisions. Over 120 cars are expected total in the pit area. On track racing action will feature Automotive Supply Company Modifieds, Leon's Frozen Custard IMCA Northern Sport Modifieds, Miller Lite Grand Nationals, Total Power Sales Street Stocks and Lynn's Service Center Dirt Devils.

After the racing events fans can go attend a live concert by Eddie Money at the Sunnyview Expo grounds, ticket information and concert times can be found on the Midwest Fest website at

Those with pit passes will be allowed to attend the concert at a reduced admission.

NAPA Auto Parts of Oshkosh and Fond Du Lac will be making their debut as a presenting sponsor after being involved in racing for many seasons with the Ewald racing teams which have competed at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway.

This event will showcase the local NAPA Auto Parts stores in Oshkosh and Fond Du Lac. One track racing action will showcase the 2012 title chase.

Competition has been fierce this season at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway in the Automotive Supply Company modified division. So far the track has seen an average of over 40 modifieds per night taking to the one third mile clay oval.

Multi-time area track champion Brian Mullen is currently leading the points standings. Defending Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway champion Brian Drexler is running second 12 points off Mullen's pace. Both have yet to visit victory lane in 2012 and have relied on consistency to climb to the top of the standings charts.

So far four different drivers have made their way the winners circle in Modified action. Mike Mullen who is the point leaders son has two victories, while Kyle Lentz, Andy Gross and Mitch McGrath have one victory each.

The Leon's Frozen Custard IMCA Northern Sport Modifieds have seen Tracy Wassenberg scoring the majority of the victories so far in 2012. Wassenberg has visited victory Lane on three occasions including back-to-back wins the past two weeks. As a result, Wassenberg has a comfortable 192 to 175 point lead over Ryan Besaw his nearest rival in the title chase.

In the Miller Lite Grand National division Tim Warner, who finished runner up in last season's point standings is currently leading the ways this year by 13 points over Tim Reichenberger. Though Warner has not visited victory lane he has been putting in consistent performances every week. In the win column Steve Schneider has two feature wins but a couple of DNF's have kept them behind Warner in the standings. Tim Doehling, and brothers Kenny and Jeff Richards have also won feature races this season.

In the total power sales street stock division Jerry Winkler has collected two victories and is currently leading the point standings with 202 markers. Richard Garber is in second place in the standings with two 192 points.

In the win column Winkler's two victories matches that of Scott Besaw who has been substitute driving the car normally driven by of Lexii Ashcraft. Each time he has driven Ashcraft's car he has won a feature race.

In the Lynn Service Center Dirt Devil division Cory Wegner and are currently leads the points standings by 10 markers over Mike Monti.

Racing action is set up get underway at 7:00pm this Friday evening.

Adult admission tickets are just $10, students ages 11 through 15 are admitted for just $5 and children 10 and under are free to attend the races.

Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway is a 1/3 mile semi-banked clay oval located at the Sunnyview Expo Center which resides near the intersection of Highways 76 and County Trunk Y in Oshkosh.
