OSHKOSH SPEEDZONE LOWE'S HOME IMPROVEMENT CAR SHOW A SUCCESS

Oshkosh, WI, April 14, 2012: On a sunny summer-like afternoon fans got a preview of the racing machines which will take to the track at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway this season as nearly 20 cars turned out dressed in their 2012 season colors. Held at the Lowe's Home Improvement Store in Oshkosh the day featured a multi-purpose community event with hundreds of people visiting the displays on hand. The Oshkosh Speedzone Car show proved to be a major attraction which also included displays to support Habitat for Humanity and attendees also witnessed public service demonstrations and children's activities. WXMM 92.9fm Country Radio which is the sponsor of the season opening Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway event on May 4th was also on hand.
The car show portion of the event featured cars representing all five classes which compete weekly at the nearly 1/3 mile Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway. The largest turnout took place in the Total Power Sales Street Stock division.

With fan an official voting deciding the outcome Mike Nehmer's vintage Camaro bodied machine would take top honors in the class which represented nearly half the cars in attendance.

Also well represented were the Automotive Supply Company Modifieds and the Lynn's Service Center Dirt Devils. The Modified class had the closest vote. Travis Spaulding whose car changed from a traditional green to a new purple look featured a full body wrap on his modified. The artful appeal of the wrap was just enough to edge out Chris Engels whose machine was flawlessly detailed in anticipation of the 2012 season.

Rick Fairbank, whose car sported over 200 feet worth of pin striping which created a puzzle style paint scheme topped the Dirt Devil best appearing award.
Todd Ewald earned top honors in the Leon's Frozen Custard Sport Modified division while defending track champion T.J. Smith made a showing to represent the Miller Lite Grand Nationals and won best appearing for the class.

Action now turns to the raceway as the next two Saturday Afternoons, April 21st and April 28th drivers may shake down their cars at the track with a pair of test and tune sessions.
