Oshkosh, WI, March 25, 2013 – It's time. In less than a month the roar of engines will be heard at area racetracks and Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway as been busy preparing for an exciting season of action. Before cars take to the track, fans will have a chance to see the machines which will carry drivers to victory up close as Lowe's of Oshkosh presents it's spring community event headlined by the Speedzone's Annual car show. The show is set to take place on Saturday, April 6th and run from 10:00am until 3:00pm. Juding will take place between the hours of Noon and 3:00pm
Last season's show, held at the Lowe's parking lot for the first proved to be such a successful event that it's back bigger and better for 2013. The Lowe's store located near the intersection of Highway's 41 and 21 just south of the Butte des Mortes bridge is a high profile location for the show to take place. Last year hundreds of fans turned out to check out the two dozen cars on hand.
Space has been reserved for up to 30 machines for this years show and it is expected cars will represent each of the five classes which race weekly at the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway. Judging will take place over a three hour timeframe from Noon until 3:00pm with winners determined by a combination of fan and official vote. Drivers may bring thier cars as early as 10:00am to have them in place for voting.
The show will also see the release of the 2013 season posters with artwork created by Graphic Point of Oshkosh.
In addtion to the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway show, attendees to the free community event will also be able to witness public service demonstrations as community services such as the Oshkosh Fire and Police Deptments will be on hand to showcase exhibits such as their "Smoke House" and "Crash Car".
For younger fans the Mc Gruff cime dog will make an appearance along with the Culver's Scoopie Ice Cream mascot. Habitat for Humanity will also be on hand for the show and food will be available including brats, hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages.
The entire event is FREE of charge.
Following the car show attention will turn to the racetrack itself as officials will be doing their best to prepare the third-mile clay oval for a season of 20 racing events. On Saturday Afternoon April 13th cars will be allowed to take to the track for the firist of several test, tune and practice days. The pit gates will open at 11:00am, with practice set to take place from Noon until 4:00pm. Fans can witness the action free of charge while those enterting the pit area need to pay a $15 fee.
The following week action begins with the "Spring Brawl" on Saturday night April 20th with a program featuring the finest Sprint Car drivers in the Midwest. The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will highlight the program with their 410 cubic inch winged machines which put out nearly 900 horsepower. The cars are the fastest race vehicles to be seen on dirt each season at the Speedzone. Joining the IRA Outlaw Sprints for the first time ever in the same program at Oshkosh will be the MSA 360 Sprints which will feature the top drivers from the weekly Sprint car programs at Manitowoc and Plymouth. Rounding out the show will be a non-point Street Stock events featuring cars from all the area tracks.

Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway is a 1/3 mile semi-banked clay oval located at the Sunnyview Expo Center which resides near the intersection of Highways 76 and County Trunk Y in Oshkosh.
