Oshkosh, WI, May 25, 2012: The pit gates opened at Oshkosh Speedzone and competitors poured into the pit area on Bennett Family Insurance Night at the races. Once again "Wisconsin's Modified Action Track" lived up to it's name as 42 Automotive Supply Company Modifieds were joined by 28 Leon's Frozen Custard IMCA Northern Sport Modifieds. The level of competition in both classes this season has been unprecedented in the history of the third-mile clay oval.

All totaled 125 cars were on hand for the evenings events.

With the holiday weekend on hand, the stands were also filling up at a rapid pace and by the time the heat races were started at 7:00pm the largest crowd of the 2012 season were settled in for what appeared to be a fantastic night of racing action.

However the real race would take place between the incoming weather and the ability to complete the program. Over the next hour and five minutes, 13 heat races were completed. Thanks in part to an improved scoring system events clicked off at a rapid pace. The drivers did their part with a minimum of caution flags.

The effort put forth by the drivers and track would not be enough as by 8:05pm rain began to fall just as the Leon's Frozen Custard IMCA Northern Sport Modified consolation race took to the racing surface. It took only a few minutes of steady rain to make the track unfit for racing and with the forecast for continued rain Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway had no choice but to call off the program.

Since the show was not considered complete no points or money were awarded but both fans and drivers in attendance will have two weeks to attend a show for free. For the next two weeks both pit passes and grandstand admission tickets will serve as rain checks to attend the races.

Prior to the weather Automotive Supply Company Modified heat race victories went to Tim Lemirande, Tony Wedelstadt, Mike Mullen and Mike Klenz.

The Leon's Frozen Custard IMCA Northern Sport Modifieds had three heat races. With Kevin Bethks, Tracy Wassenberg and point leader Kurt Moeller taking victories.

A pair of heats were contested in the Miller Lite Grand Nationals with Jeff Richards and Tom Schneider grabbing wins. Total Power Sales Street Stock heat race checkereds fell for Dan Knaus and Jon Ashcraft.

The Lynn's Service Center Dirt Devils saw Chris Maas and Mike Montie grab victories.

Next Friday Night June 1st will be Graphic Point Night at the races. Graphic Point has been a long time supporter of Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway providing printing services and the weekly point sheet programs for the raceway, without the help of Graphic Point the weekly point program would not be possible. Graphic Point will be joined by Bennett Family Insurance at the event.

Racing action will begin at the new 7:00pm start time with nearly 120 cars expected to be on hand in the five division program. The Automotive Supply Company Modifieds, Leon's Frozen Custard IMCA Northern Sport Modifieds, Miller Lite Grand Nationals, Total Power Sales Street Stocks and Lynn's Service Center Dirt Devils will continue their season long point battle.

Adult admission tickets are just $10, students ages 11 through 15 are admitted for just $5 and children 10 and under are free to attend the races.
